Welcome to Butterfly Class
We are a year one class, based at our site at Parkside Community Primary School. We follow the EYFS curriculum and learn through play and exploration.
We understand how important child development is and try to embed the Characteristics of Effective Learning into the classroom:
Playing and Exploring - children investigate and experience things and ‘have a go’
Active Learning - children concentrate and keep on trying if they encounter difficulties and enjoy achievements
Creating and thinking critically - children have and develop their own ideas, make links between ideas and develop strategies for doing things.
News Updates
On Mondays we have Horse Riding. Please send children in wearing trousers and sensible trainers/wellies.
On Tuesdays we have Forest school. Please send your child in wearing weather suitable clothing. It can get very muddy, so I recommend sending in an all-in-one suit and wellies, if your child doesn’t already have these in school.
Our Class trip to Wingham Wildlife Park will take place on Friday 12 May. Please speak to Joanna if you have any queries about this.
