Dear Parents and Carers

This week's snow meant that we had to completely close the school for two days as the roads were so dangerous. We made the decisions as early as we could based on the weather forecasts and local reports and then communicated them out to you through texting, the school website and the Kent County Council School Closures website. Should this need to happen again we will use the same systems.

We are still unsure what will happen after the half term break next week with regard to the lockdown. The government have said that they will tell us in the first week after half term if there are to be any changes from 8 March 2021.

A number of school staff have been offered the COVID-19 vaccine recently in recognition of the vulnerability of the children and young people at St Nicholas. This has been very positively received within the staff teams and has given them some reassurance for the future.

Thank you to all those who responded to our survey about home learning. We had 20 replies which were overwhelmingly positive but also gave us areas that we can address to improve our offer. In particular we will be looking at how we have been using Zoom and where we can extend it.

Best wishes
